Intervention

I liked this when I wrote it but now I'm not so sure. I might rewrite this later or something.
Rating: G, possibly PG

“Where are you going?” His voice comes out as soft as a whisper but manages to convey a cold anger.

His sister turns around with very little reluctance. She is caught. But for the most part she is indifferent.

“I’m not sure”, she says casually as she puts her shoulder length blond hair up in a pony tail.

“Cut the crap,” he says while crossing the living room.

“I can promise you that I’m telling you one hundred percent of the truth.” She says almost innocently, “I was just planning on roaming around till I find… something, you know?”

His face flushes crimson. “What you’re doing might as well be murder.”

“They’re not people!” she snaps. “Besides,” she adds more calmly, “It’s not like there are any laws about taking down what’s already dead.”

“Not yet.”

“Not ever,” she corrects him. “And you know why? Because they’re blood sucking monsters.” She begins to put on her jacket.

He tries to reason with her. “I know you were devastated when Julia was killed. But that doesn’t give you the right to kill every vampire that crosses your path to avenge her death. She wouldn’t want that Lizzy,” he adds. His voice is almost tenderly. “You know that.”

“Don’t you dare talk about Julia,” she responds frigidly. She slams the door on the way out.
