Thank you for all the Rave references in Fairy Tail. Seriously, I could make a list of them all.

Newest reference: An organization called Oracion Seis!

Twilight Haters, Avert Your Eyes

Breaking Dawn
For the record, I have never watched Twilight. I don't really plan to either. Why? Because I think I'd be disappointed. And I heard it was less than stellar and I don't know if I could watch the whole thing in one sitting. If it comes on TV... maybe.

Also, New Moon is my least favorite of the series. So i definitely wasn't planning on seeing the sequel.

Then I hear this: Dakota Fanning is playing Jane.

Can I just squeal right now?

I heard the rumor that they were hoping to cast her but I didn't know it was confirmed until a few minutes ago.

And seriously, she's perfect for the role. And she's Dakota Fanning! Have you seen The Secret Life of Bees and Coraline? Cuz I have.

So yeah, I think I might actually see it. The only problem is Jane'll probably only be in the last 15 minutes of the movie. I'll think about it.

So This Week's FMA Was Pretty Fantastic

Dear FMA: Why Are You So Awesome?

I Will Always Love You
I like just finished reading Fullmetal Alchemist. Omg. One day when I have time and I don't have to go bed 'cause of a really long rehersal/concert, I will post all the reasons the newest chapter was amazing. And maybe even all of the awesome moments in the manga.

But now I have the urge to go on TV Tropes. And I can't cuz I gave that up for Lent. Gah! How weird can I be! TV Tropes, how did you become so addicting?

A Found Poem

  • Jan. 26th, 2009 at 9:09 PM
I Will Always Love You
According to my teacher, a found poem is when you take something like a novel, speech or article and put in lines so it resembles a poem. The main rule is that is can't be another poem or a song. You can take away as many words as you want but you shouldn't add in too many. And of course you need to credit your source.

Now that my intro is done, here's my poem.

Tongue-Tied

Hyper-soccer ball
Or hyper doughnut
Un-image-able images
Data
gathered by satellites

The Mission:
     measure the “ripples”
emanating from
     the “big bang”,
the primordial “explosion” that occurred everywhere
     And nowhere,
         Creating space and time
and

eventually

A crude system
Of grunts and whistles
Trying to describe it all

(Found in the NY Times article “Tongue-Tied by Physics: The Ineffable Lightness of Being”)

Another Writing Class thing

Yeah, I'm posting select pieces of my writing portfolio. Why? Cuz why not? Short story behind cut.

Beautiful Stranger

Slowly, he pushes your hair out of the way. His touch is gentle but there's something off. He leaves his hand in your hair a second too long. )

Livejournal wouldn't let me copy and paste it into the cut (maybe I should you the html format?) so I had to type it out. Which is why it took me so long to post this.

Some poetry I did in Writing Class

Prompt: It had been raining steadily

                Wind
It's been raining steadily
And it doesn't look like its gonna stop

Without the sun,
The sky is a grayish blue

The wind throws a garbage bin
In a childish tantrum

I feel so light and meek
Am I next?

Because I wanted to...

So I do this AU Avatar roleplay (found here) and it came up that Ty Lee has Ruby Red shoes... and a blue gingham dress...

Which kinda lead to this:

It looked way too light after I scanned it (Her skin came out way too white) so I used Photoshop to fix it which made the shoe color awesome. As for the rest, it still looks better in real life. But it is a definite improvement.

I hate the way I drew the shoes though. I'll have to think of a new design for that.

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ.

Severe WTF-ery starts on like page 123 in the rightly named chapter "Unexpected". And it seems to get weirder... Not sure what else to say...

I think I'll post my thoughts on the book at some point in the future. Now I will go to sleep... or read... (probably read).

The Wireless Internet is back! I am happy.

And the icons are so done. But I've been really lazy so I haven't put them on photobucket yet. Soon though.

Diet Coke--Rent
"Among the latest skits, it was host Tina Fey's return to her old Weekend Update anchor desk that set the buzz afire. She took up the cause of Hillary Clinton and unleashed an inappropriate-for-family-media slogan, in effect "(Being a Formidable Woman) is the New Black." Her in-your-face defense catapulted Fey into the top 3,000 searches, got her video embedded in blogs across the nation, and garnered the "30 Rock" star more searches than the current SNL cast combined.

(Emphasis mine)

Yes, because SNL has always been a family friendly show. *Eye roll*

And by the way, the quote is "Bitch is the new black."

Whole story here

Note to self: make some Pro-Hillary lj icons using SNL quotes. Yes it's possible.
